I believe is a cute short story about self acceptance / self-esteem but sadly is just that, short, most conflicts end up unresolved, some plots end up going nowhere and the just, I do like most of the things that involved those feelings of doubt, convincing oneself of certain worth (bad or good), the passion towards something you like, but it just scrapes the surface of those themes maybe with a bit more time or budget it would've ending up more than good, but I have to admit that some charm of this show got me and ended up me wanting more of this.

After Re-Watching P&S after 10 years of watching it for the 1st Time, All I have to say is, damn !!!! This left me with a weird unsatisfactory sensation, I like most of the catalog of Gainax but after re-watching this left me with mixed feelings about the show, I remember watching this back when I was an Edgy 14 yr old boy who wanted to see crudeness and boobies but to my surprise I ended up way too amazed by the astonishing animation, my brain was blown away by just watching those cool shots, music and rudeness on screen, I thought, wow this is really amazing I want more of this, I knew that the show wasn't getting a new season since I watched it in 2013, and I ended up watching Kill La Kill as a result of watching a meme on YouTube since I thought that the style of action and uhh... Sexiness, I guess ?; reminded me of P&S and without knowing I would end up falling into an animation rabbit hole and re-sparking my love for anime that I had back when I was 8, but going back to main point, what do I think about Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, I think is a great homage of western cartoons that had an actual inspiration or Influence based on anime like, The Power Puff Girls and Invader Zim and also with an amazing style that made it work better with I can only suppose is the pipeline of working on Anime, most of the designs including the background characters are rarely out of model or weird on focus, that being said I like that the designs of Panty & Stocking follow rules of simplification that one can perceive on things as the already mentioned PPG but what I think is one of the most overlooked influences in the show would be most of the roster of Viacom Animation, and it shows some faces taking straight up ques from Fairly Odd Parents and some face shapes looking angular like that 2000s animation to be precise Invader Zim, inclusive having Chuck as a straight-up reference of Gir, and obviously that episode where they straight up had Ren and Stimpy, I think this aspect of the designs add more to the enjoyment of those who know about production and some aspects of animation and also makes a good-looking show as whole, but when it comes to the comedy is where the show starts to fall down for me, this is one of the ques of Viacom Animation that I think that P&S shouldn't have picked, Drawn Together being cited as one those influences in the show by and old interview that came back from 2011, it has the vibe of those jokes but at the same time I think that since P&S had something's established for the characters I don't think it depended too much on that aspect and thank goodness it wasn't too edgy nor random all the time that it helps them to have their own style, but in the end I don't know, I'm not to fund of having two characters on screen being like most people of the show describe them as, bitches, I liked the end, although it felt kinda abrupt to wanting to close the show by actually following the main premise all of a sudden but since they only had 13 episodes I guess is logical to at least conclude that, my favorite part of the show at the end where the two main antagonist who sadly didn't had that much screen time on the show, but I love the apparition of Scanty & Kneesocks, their theme, their facial expressions and their mannerisms, their first appearance was awesome and most of the fights with the main duo where even more incredible, I only wish they felt more of a threat by still being funny and having that cool presentation of theirs, to conclude all I have to say that personally the comedy and the main duo didn't make wanting to keep watching the show for a 3rd Time, but I can only guess that's only the rebellious nature of the show and stuff.
Watch it if you are curious or something, but personally I don't recommend it.
